Software computer programming code abstract technology backgroundCDN is delighted to have been awarded funding by Skills Development Scotland to develop a sustainable digital project to engage and inspire Scotland’s next generation of digital makers. One of 10 selected initiatives, our innovative project is called ‘Can You Code it?’ and designed to help young programmers develop their Python coding skills through a series of weekly challenges.

The challenges will be mapped to SQA qualifications and set in a range of real world industry contexts. ‘Can You Code it?’ is a web application which will allow users to submit code, which is then automatically analysed to see if it produces a workable solution, allowing for a variety of correct solutions.

The project offers opportunities for young people to explore future work options through technology and will positively promote female role models in a technology context. Development is underway and we anticipate that ‘Can You Code it?’ will be available for the start of the new academic session in the summer.
