The strands of International work in colleges cover four main areas:
- Commercial
- Student mobility – student experiences abroad
- Staff development abroad eg attendance/speakers at conferences
- Employability – preparing students to become global citizens (internationalisation of the curriculum)
The International network will impact on learners through:
- Finding business opportunities and preparing funding bids bring more money and resources to the sector
- Providing opportunities for collaboration on funded projects which develop the skills of staff and learners
- Supporting training and motivational opportunities for staff to enrich the college experience
- Providing more support for employability and the international elements of the curriculum.
