We are delighted to announce the call for papers for the College Action Inquiry Research Network (CAIRN) Journal 2025, with publication dates in June and November. The submission deadline for draft proposals is March 31, 2025 (for the June issue) and August 31, 2025 (for the November issue). Discover recent CAIRN issues here.
The 2025 issues of the CAIRN journal will be published in June and November. The editorial board are keen to encourage as wide a range of people from the college sector to submit draft papers. The intended audience for the journal includes those who teach and research within the sector and those who lead, develop, manage and evaluate delivery provision.
The editorial board will consider papers relating to a broad range of topics including (but not limited to) the following:
- Leadership; management and administration
- Education reform
- Student learning journey
- Education and training
- Teaching, learning and assessment
- Theoretical and conceptual issues
- Professional issues
- Curriculum development
- Cultural change and structural developments
- Technological developments
- International issues and collaborative projects
CAIRN is committed to publishing reviewed articles in an accessible and concise style with contributions from staff and practitioners across the sector, including those working with the sector. Members of the editorial board are available to offer help to those who are considering submitting a paper but who have little or no experience of publishing academic papers.
Deadlines for proposals: 31 March 2025 (for June issue) and 31 August 2025 (for November issue).

Review process: Members of the editorial board and/or invited reviewers will review each submission on an anonymous basis. Suggested amendments may be made before a proposal can be accepted for publication.
