The Scottish Funding Council released the report Scotland’s Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF): Roles and Responsibilities of SFC Delivery Partner Agencies. View the report here.
The report outlines the roles and responsibilities of key partner agencies involved in the TQEF, including College Development Network (CDN), Education Scotland (ES), HM Inspectors, the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), and sparqs (Student Partnerships in Quality Scotland).
CDN will play an important role in supporting colleges to participate fully in the TQEF, which is Scotland’s Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework and the TQER, which is the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review, a key part of the TQEF.
CDN will support the implementation of the TQEF and TQER in several ways:
- Partnering with the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) to deliver STEP, Scotland’s Tertiary Enhancement Programme. This collaboration will develop structures and processes to engage staff and students in delivering projects and activities.
- Working with QAA and Education Scotland (ES), alongside HM Inspectors, to create a coordinated support programme that enhances colleges’ capacity to participate in TQEF. This includes developing resources and training on leadership, governance, and staff development to support quality assurance processes in line with SFC guidance.
- Using insights from Self-Evaluation and Action Plans (SEAPs) created by colleges to inform interventions aimed at improving practice.
- Supporting the training of TQER reviewers by providing input and insights as needed.
