UHI North, West and Hebrides celebrated its launch as Scotland’s newest college in September 2023 following the merger of UHI North Highland, UHI Outer Hebrides and UHI West Highland.
The new college will create an anchor institution connecting rural and island communities through distinctive education, training and research shaped by the culture, location, and landscapes of the North and West Highlands, Skye, and Outer Hebrides.
- We are different – a college and a university with around 9000 enrolled students spread across 19 campuses and centres covering an area the size of Wales. We are distinctive – our courses are deeply rooted in the culture, location, and landscapes of the North and West Highlands, Skye, and Outer Hebrides.
- We are diverse – we educate, train, and inspire, offering flexible learning opportunities supported by digital innovation to suit more people, at more levels, for more reasons.
- We are drivers of change – our learning, teaching and research support economic growth, providing a skills pipeline for key sectors including renewable energy, net zero, space, engineering and advanced manufacturing, environmental science, land and sea, tourism, food and drink, creative industries, and Gaelic.
