HM Inspector of Education: Head of Scrutiny – Education Scotland

Gill graduated from the University of Aberdeen and worked in oil & gas before entering the world of education. She joined the college sector in 1997, initially leading quality assurance and enhancement, and teaching on various college programmes, before moving on to a series of cross-college roles involving quality, professional development, and curriculum development. She undertook a range of senior roles for 10 years, before joining Education Scotland as an HM Inspector in 2013. Within Education Scotland, Gill has led various national tasks and liaises with national bodies in developing and enhancing Post 16 provision in Scotland. As Head of Scrutiny, Gill has responsibility for Post 16 scrutiny, and liaises closely with a number of stakeholders including Scottish Government, SFC, and local authorities.
