Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course, you should have some senior leadership experience and carry out a management and leadership role at senior level. You must also have the support of your organisation and opportunities to apply your learning in practice. If you’re an aspiring senior manager, you are welcome to apply, provided your organisation has identified you as having the potential to progress into a senior role.

Course delivery

This is a blended learning programme, consisting of 11 two-hour online workshops, complemented by guided and self-directed learning. The workshops combine tutor-led sessions, practical activities, peer learning, and reflective practice. Between workshops, you will engage in guided and self-directed learning, which includes research on your organisation, reading, and exploration of key topics. The total guided learning hours for the course are 60.

Assessment

You will be assessed through a written assignment for each unit, where you’ll need to demonstrate your understanding of the content and your ability to apply it to your own organisational context. Assignments are graded using the CMI grading system, which is ‘Pass/Refer’. If you do not pass on your first attempt, you will receive constructive feedback and have a second, final opportunity to resubmit. Upon successful completion of the course and assignments, you will earn the CMI RQF Level 7 (SCQF Level 11) Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership.

What our delegates said

I have more confidence in the best approaches to use when making strategic decisions. The programme also introduced me to colleagues across the sector at similar levels that I can contact to share/bounce ideas off

Highly recommended – great fun, thought provoking, and a really well considered step away from the daily challenges. I really enjoyed it!
