Purpose of the Network
The key purpose of the Network is to support staff involved in the planning and implementation of guidance and student support services, including those with the key responsibility for ensuring the access and inclusion of learners with a diverse range of needs, into all aspects of college life. It’s a supportive, solution focused network that acts as a strategic voice on behalf of the sector, provides a sounding board for CDN and stakeholders, shares practice and provides an opportunity to meet and influence policy makers.
Focus of This Session/Current Priorities
- Sharing approaches on maintaining services on reduced/static budgets.
- Sharing good practice and developing insights into how financial support for disabled students is used in colleges.
- Monitoring and sharing experiences of the new SAAS DSA online application process to provide feedback to SAAS.
- Developing understanding of our role in supporting universal design for learning in the curriculum.
- Gain insights on emerging themes and good practice from the peer-led Communities of Practice.
Who May Wish to Attend
The membership of the network is broad and includes heads of service and managers working within guidance, learning support, inclusion and widening access roles.
