Purpose of the Network
The CDN Essential Skills Network is a national, collaborative forum led by College Development Network (CDN) that brings together college leaders, practitioners and partner agencies to strengthen the embedding of essential, meta and core skills across teaching, learning and professional practice.
Focus of This Session/Current Priorities
- Regular network meetings and events bringing together college leaders, practitioners and partners to share learning and discuss sector priorities around essential, meta and core skills.
- Showcasing and sharing practice from across colleges, highlighting how essential skills are being embedded in curriculum, pedagogy and professional practice.
- Collaborative discussions and panels focused on emerging approaches, common challenges, and opportunities for collective impact across the colleges sector.
- Alignment with national priorities and agencies, supporting colleges to connect practice to wider skills and qualification developments.
- Action-focused collaboration to inform next steps, shape shared priorities, and support ongoing improvement in essential skills development across Scotland’s colleges.
