Purpose of Network

The Learning and Teaching Improvement Group was developed to provide a space to discuss Learning and Teaching approaches deployed across the sector.  Learning and Teaching is ever evolving, non more so than following the pandemic and this group allows colleges to chare current approaches to the delivery of the curriculum, share challenges and provide the opportunity to work collaboratively across the sector

Focus of the network this session

  • supporting the open sharing of practice across the sector, providing individuals with the opportunity to understand approaches in other colleges
  • providing opportunities for the dissemination of relevant learning and teaching information to individuals in appropriate roles
  • Provide a space for colleagues in learning and teaching improvement roles to share challenges and provide an opportunity for collaboration

Who may wish to attend this network

College staff who have responsibility for improvement of learning and teaching; whether this be at individual lecturer level, department level or across college.

Professional Learning Communities

Aside from this main network, a Professional Learning Community is in place for colleagues to share practice relevant to their individual role and individual needs.

Mentors* – The purpose of this group is for individuals who are working in a mentor* capacity to have a space to come together, share practice, challenges with the view to collaborating where appropriate.

*The definition of mentors includes individuals who are supporting candidates involved in TQFE, PDA / TiCT, induction/ integration or equivalent qualifications or courses, improving the practice (learning and teaching) of peers or colleagues.
