New Masterclasses support college leaders on strategic risk and political engagement

CDN, in partnership with Colleges Scotland, has launched the latest sessions in its Masterclass series for college senior leaders and board members.

Designed to support leadership across the tertiary sector, these expert-led sessions focus on two critical areas: managing strategic risk and governance, and engaging effectively with government and parliamentary processes.

Delivered by facilitators from Pinsent Masons and Zurich Resilience Services, the Masterclasses offer practical insight, real-world learning, and opportunities to build confidence in key leadership responsibilities.

Participants can also benefit from a discounted rate when booking both sessions: £150 for one session or £250 for both.

Preparing for Parliamentary Committees

28 May or 2 June 2026 | Edinburgh

This exclusive half-day Masterclass, delivered in partnership with Pinsent Masons, prepares senior leaders and board members for giving evidence to parliamentary committees.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of how committees operate and what underpins effective evidence-giving, including how to respond to challenging questions while maintaining composure and message discipline.

A key feature of the session is a realistic mock evidence exercise. Participants will face committee-style questioning from Pinsent Masons practitioners, followed by tailored, constructive feedback on delivery, tone, and messaging.

The exercise is then repeated, allowing participants to apply feedback in real time and build confidence in representing their organisation under scrutiny.
