Partnership Projects

STEP

STEP (Scotland’s Tertiary Enhancement Programme) is the national enhancement programme for the Scottish tertiary sector. It is designed to enable Scotland’s colleges and universities to work together to improve and enhance learning, teaching, the student experience, and staff development across tertiary provision.

TQEF

The Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF) comprises a shared set of principles, delivery mechanisms and outputs that can be applied to the different contexts of our colleges and universities to give assurance on academic standards, the quality of the student experience and ensure accountability for public investment in learning and teaching. We support the TQEF by co-managing Scotland’s Tertiary Enhancement Programme (STEP) in partnership with QAA Scotland.

Tertiary Self-Evaluation Toolkit

CDN’s Tertiary Self-Evaluation Toolkit (TSET) is a free online resource on CDN LearnOnline that helps colleges with self-evaluation and creating Self-Evaluation and Action Plans (SEAPs).

Through interactive tools, podcasts, and case studies, you’ll explore:

  • The Self-Evaluation Journey – step-by-step guidance and practical examples
  • Sector Insights – real-world case studies from Scottish colleges
  • Guidance and Resources – links to key national materials
  • Embedding Evaluation – tips on data, engagement, and reflection

The toolkit is flexible, so you can work through it step by step or revisit content anytime.

Explore it on CDN LearnOnline.
