CDN proudly hosts the Colleges Action Inquiry Research Network (CAIRN) Journal, serving as a significant voice in Scottish college sector scholarship.

We’re delighted to launch Issue 3 of CAIRN this July, and to open our call for submissions for the November 2025 issue. The deadline for draft proposals is 30 September 2025. Please send your proposal or full draft paper to the following email address: research@cdn.ac.uk

It serves as a platform for sharing innovation, knowledge, and critical insights through contributions from active researchers in colleges, including featured research articles, personal reflections, and book reviews. We also welcome short, descriptive narrative articles highlighting innovative practices that enhance and support educational activities.

Our focus is on creating a practitioner-oriented publication dedicated to advancing scholarship and fostering knowledge exchange. Our audience includes educators, researchers, leaders, developers, managers, and evaluators within the sector.
