CDN proudly hosts the Colleges Action Inquiry Research Network (CAIRN) Journal, a significant voice in scholarship across the Scottish college sector.

We’re delighted to launch Issue 4 of CAIRN last December, with the next issue scheduled for June 2026.

The deadline for draft proposals for the upcoming issue has now closed; however, we would be very happy to receive submissions for future issues. Please send your proposal or full draft paper to research@cdn.ac.uk

The journal provides a platform for sharing innovation, knowledge, and critical insights from active college-based researchers. Each issue features research articles, personal reflections, book reviews, and short narrative pieces that showcase innovative practices enhancing teaching and learning.

Our aim is to create a practitioner-focused publication that advances scholarship and fosters meaningful knowledge exchange. Our audience includes educators, researchers, leaders, developers, managers, and evaluators across the sector.
