Strategic Networks and Communities of Practice (CoP)
At CDN, we are committed to supporting college staff in collaborating, sharing good practices, and enhancing their work both within individual colleges and across the broader tertiary sector. By building strong networks and communities of practice, we drive continuous improvement and innovation, ensuring our institutions remain responsive and effective in meeting the ever-changing demands of the educational landscape.
To support this, CDN offers both administrative and expert guidance to a variety of Strategic Networks and Communities of Practice (CoPs).
Strategic Networks are groups of senior leaders within the college sector who collaborate to provide strategic support for future-focused thinking and planning in key areas or specialisms. These networks respond to the evolving needs and contexts of the tertiary sector.
Communities of Practice (CoPs)—formerly known as professional networks or professional learning communities—are groups of college staff in similar roles across colleges. These communities connect departments or focus on specific areas, working together to share and improve practices. CoPs play a crucial role in the ongoing development, quality, and enhancement of college provision and key services. Through their collective efforts, CoPs contribute to both individual professional growth and the overall improvement of practice across the sector.
